Central banks should not target house prices, Financial Times
Our first article is a Financial Times opinion piece which discusses the use of monetary policy to target rising housing prices, which has recently caught on in New Zealand. The author looks at empirical economic studies and makes a compelling, easy to understand argument for how a less distortionary approach can be taken to control housing prices which is less impactful to the entire economy.

Longtime tech journalist Josh Constine hosted a talk with Mark Zuckerberg, Spotify CEO Daniel Ek, and Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke. They covered building careers, the future of privacy, internet freedom, and Apple’s creator policies. This is an insane lineup of smart, accomplished people, who shared their vision for a future. Why has climate economics failed us?, Noahpinion
Noah Smith offers a critical review of current research (or lack thereof) from climate economists. He’s critical of the field’s over fixation with carbon taxes and reliance on models that don’t tie with environmental research. The piece is a good for thought and a good (but critical) introduction to hot topics in climate economics.
